Big Rapids Township Clerk
Karen Greenbay - WRITE IN
I am running because I have been a longtime member and small business owner in this community. The division and lies has let me to stand up and run for clerk. I am extremely organized, keep good records. I am diligent and will be there all of work hours to hear you and listen.
Big Rapids Township Supervisor
Tim Hahn
I am as surprised as you to find myself in this position. However after months and months of complaining about the new board, I realized that I couldn't complain, I have to do something. I am running on the platform of economic development, dedicated improvements to the roads, and being open and present to your needs and concerns.
Green Township Supervisor
Joe Percy
Be accountable to all citizens and not just special inter-est groups with narrow and self-serving agendas.•Hold the staff accountable to perform our jobs and not rely on expensive outside-services.•Hold meetings in the evening when residents can attend.•Give more than a 24-hour notice for special meetings to encourage citizen participation.•Request a professional audit to evaluate the financial health of our township.•Honor all legitimate contracts.
Big Rapids Township Trustee
Krysti Kidder
Big Rapids Township friends and neighbors! I am running to be your next BRT Trustee in the November election.
I never planned to run for a township position, but I am tired of the division in our community and I felt compelled to step forward to help work towards bringing our community back together.
We need to champion our community’s future prosperity to grow with a purpose.
We need to establish easy-to-access leadership that gets the community involved with innovative ideas to address future challenges.
I am passionate about creating positive change, and have spent my career developing strong relationships and finding solutions through collaboration, communication and compromise.
I am excited to be campaigning with this strong and amazing slate of people who are eager to help move us forward with shared vision and common values. We all agree we need to work WITH our hard working men and women in our township’s fire department and emergency services to help improve communication, build teamwork and morale.
Big Rapids Township Trustee
Amy Bowling
Amy is a 12 year resident of Big Rapids. She is a local farmer, former chaplain at the Grand Rapids home for Veterans, and is currently an adjunct professor at GRCC. She is passionate about the community and feels that we need unity, vulnerability, and honesty in local government. Amy very much wants to hear our residents concerns and address the problems of losing businesses and building up our township economics and emergency services.
Green Township Trustee
Katy Battle
Katy Battle is running for a trustee position for Green Charter Township. She has lived in Green Charter Township her whole life, which is 55 years. Katy has worked for the USPS since 1998, first at the Paris Post Office, then Leroy, and now in Luther since December 2014. She has developed skills in organizing and works well with people.
Katy feels that she must run for a position on the board because she does not like the direction that the current board is taking in her community. She is opposed to the amount of money that the new board is spending on lawyers and accounts as they fight against Gotion.
She has witnessed the No Gotion people using an outside foundation called MESA in a direction costing the township more money. New board members have hired lawyers, bought new equipment, increased salaries, cut down working hours, and literally working against the interests of the majority of people. She prefers "Our Township", that works for the betterment of all community people.
Katy knows the hard work that Janet Clark (former Clerk) accomplished to get grants and build up Green township, and go forward, instead of what is currently happening. Katy asks you to VOTE for her and to support the following people who share her values including Joe Percy for Supervisor, and Scott B. MacFarlane for Trustee, and to "write-in" Sara Rasmussen for Trustee.
